Dahi Aloo Ki Sabji recipe- How to make dahi aloo ki sabji recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh Curd or yogurt, dahi, nicely whisked
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 large boiled potatoes
  • 1 tbsp Ghee/clarified butter
  • 1 bay leaf / tej patta
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 green chili chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
  • 1/2 tsp dry mint leaves, crushed

Method:

  • Heat ghee in a thick bottom pan and add cumin seeds.
  • When cumin seeds crackle add a pinch of asafoetida, bay leaf and green chili and turmeric powder and saute.
  • Add 1/2 cup water and red chili powder and then add whisked curd.
  • Stir continuously on high flame till the curd combines well else there is a chance for curd to curdle.
  • when curd starts boiling then add boiled cubed potato along with salt and coriander powder.
  • Mix well, cover and simmer for 5 minutes or till potato absorbs flavor.
  • Now add garam masala and dry mango powder and sprinkle dry mint crushed leaves.
  • Dahi aloo is ready to serve.
