Serving For Two people
Ingredients:
1 medium size Potato
1 Cup Peas
1 large size Tomatoes
1/2 inch ginger
1 green chili
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp ghee
a pinch of asafoetida
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp red chili powder
Salt to taste
1/2 garam masala
1/2 dry mango powder
Chopped Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
First, we make a fine paste of tomato, ginger and green chili.
Peel potatoes and cut into cubes.
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and cumin seeds.
When cumin seeds crackle add asafoetida, turmeric powder, and tomato paste and saute well.
Add coriander powder, red chili powder and saute until ghee separates from the masala.
Add potatoes and peas and one cup water and salt.
Cover cooker with lid and cook it till 3 whistles.
Once the cooker is cooled down then add garam masala and dry mango powder and mix well.
Aloo Matar curry is ready to serve while serving garnish with coriander leaves.
Aloo Matar curry goes well with chapati, parantha and rice.
