Karonde mirch ka achaar – how to make karonde mirch ka achaar
Karonde is often called as carissa carandus or natal plum or karvand. Karonde Hari mirch ki sabzi is a favorite seasonal side dish recipe. Serve karonde Mirch ki sabzi with chapati and raita for a complete meal. Karonda Mirch ki sabzi is a tangy vegetable which is usually used in pickles.
Preparation time – 20 minutes
Cooking time – 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- karonde – 250 gram
- Green chili- 250 gram
- Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Asafoetida – a pinch
- Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
- Fennel seed’s powder- 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon
- Oil – 2 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
Method
- Rinse Karonde 2-3 times with water to remove all the dirt and mud particles.
- Wash the green chilies as well.
- Cut each piece of karonda into two equal halves and remove seeds.
- Cut each green chili into half-inch pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and asafoetida and turmeric powder and fennel powder and mix well.
- Now add green chilies and saute for one minute and add karonde and mix well.
- Add coriander powder and salt and mix well.
- Now cover the lid and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Check for doneness. Cook uncovered for one minute. Turn off the heat.
- Serve karonde Mirch ki sabzi with paratha/roti.
- You can store it in the fridge for a week or so.
