Masoor Dal Appam recipe – How to made masoor dal appe
Masoor dal(red lentil) appe is a great option for a healthy and tasty breakfast. Appe or kuzhipaniyaram is a south Indian dish made of steaming batter.
A proper breakfast always helps us to feel energetic throughout the day.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup masoor daal
- 1/2 cup semolina or suji
- 1/2 cup curd
- 1 medium sized onion chopped
- 1- inch ginger grated
- 1 green chiili chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- A handful of coriander leaves chopped
- For tempering
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
Method:
- Soak masoor daal in water for more than 2 to 3 hours.
- Drain the water and grind it to make a smooth paste.
- Transfer all the paste to a mixing bowl.
- Add all the ingredients and mix it well.
- Preheat appam maker and pour some oil into each mold on the maker and add a pinch of mustard seeds and take mixture in a spoon and fill the molds.
- After filling all the molds, cover and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
- When the appam gets golden brown from beneath, flip sides.
- Cover again and cook for 2 minutes or until getting golden brown in color on both sides.
- Our masoor dal appe or appam is ready to serve.
- Serve with chutney or sauce.
