Tricolour Onion Appam recipe, How to make tricolour onion appam
A special tricolour Appam to celebrate independence day in true spirit. A very easy to make and healthy recipe.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup semolina(suji)
- 1 cup curd
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 green chilly finely chopped
- 1-inch ginger grated
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon red chilly powder
- 2 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 grated carrot
- 1 teaspoon tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon green chutney
- 1 pinch green colour
Method:
- Mix Semolina in curd and chopped onion, salt, red chilly powder, green chilly and ginger and mix well.
- Add water and make a smooth paste. The paste should not be too much thick or not watery.
- Now divide this batter into three equal parts for making tricolour appam.
- For making orange colour add grated carrot and tomato sauce into one part.
- For making the green colour add green coriander chutney and a pinch of green colour into the second part and leave the third part as it is.
- Preheat appam maker and pour some oil into each mould.on the maker and add a pinch of mustard seeds and take mixture in a spoon and fill the mould. Do not mix the colour.
- After filling all the mould, cover and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
- When the appams get golden brown from, flip sides.
- Cover again and cook for 2 minutes. Cook until appam get golden brown in colour on both sides.
- Our tricolour appam is ready to serve.
- Serve with green chutney or sauce.
