Jaggery malpuas recipe, How to make jaggery malpuas

Jaggery malpua is a delicious dessert and melt in the mouth. This wheat flour malpuas should be served right off the tava, garnish with cardamom powder and almonds or with a topping of creamy rabdi.


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup grated jaggery
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Ghee as required

Method:

  • Heat 3/4 cup of water in a broad non-stick pan, add the jaggery, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes or till the jaggery melts.
  • Remove from the flame, transfer into a bowl, and keep aside to cool slightly.
  • Add the whole wheat flour and fennel seeds, cardamom powder and mix well till no lumps remain.
  • Heat a non- stick tava and grease it using a little ghee.
  • Pour a small ladleful of the batter on it and spread it evenly.
  • Cook both sides till it turns golden brown in color from both sides.
