Edible Diya, How to make edible Diya
My innovative edible diye for Diwali. In this recipe, I am not using any food color.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup + 1/4 cup condensed milk
- 1.5 cup + 3/4 cup desiccated coconut
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 10 to 12 saffron strands
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon silver sparkles
- 1 teaspoon tutti fruity
Method:
- Take warm milk and add saffron strands and mix and keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes so that saffron gets dissolved.
- For diya:
- First, we take 1/2 cup of condensed milk in a pan.
- Add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1.5 cups desiccated coconut.
- Turn on the flame and keep it to medium.
- Mix all the ingredients and saute for 1 or 2 minutes.
- Remove this mixture to a bowl.
- For oil filling:
- We take 1/4 cup condensed milk in a pan and add the saffron milk and saute for one minute.
- Now add 3/4 cup desiccated coconut and mix well or saute until all the ingredients get well mixed.
- Remove this mixture to another bowl.
- Now assembling:
- First, we take a small portion of the cocoa mixture and give the shape of diya.
- Now take a small portion of the saffron mixture and give the shape of a small flat ball and set this all in diya.
- Place tutti-fruity for flame and arrange silver sparkles to decorate diya.
- Repeat this process and prepare all the diyas.
