Mukhwas Modak recipe, How to make mukhwas modak
Modak is offered to Lord Ganesha as prasad during Ganesh Chaturthi Puja. Lord Ganesha loves Modak hence we also called as Modak Priya.
Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha. It is said that the lord loves modak so these are made in every home celebrating this special day.
Mukhwas is usually eaten after a meal to aid digestion and freshen the mouth.

Preparation Time – 10 minutes
Cooking Time – 5 minutes
Serving for 6 Modak
Ingredients:
- Betel leaves- 2
- Desiccated coconut – 2 teaspoon
- Chura supari – 1 tablespoon
- Sweet Saunf(fennel seeds)- 1 tablespoon
- Pass pass Supari- 1 tablespoon
- Gulkand – 2 tablespoon
- Cardamom powder – 1 teaspoon
- Saunf supari – 1 teaspoon
- Tutti Fruity – 1 tablespoon
- Cherry- 6
Method:
- Wash betel leaves and finely chop them.
- In a bowl add all the ingredients except cherry.
- Now take modak mould and grease it with ghee.
- Take a small portion of the mixture and fill this in the Modak mould.
- Press this in such a way to make a cavity in the center where you can stuff the cherry.
- Add a cherry in the center and cover it with mukhwas mixture to seal the cavity.
- Put Modak on a plate.
- Prepare the remaining modak in the same way.
- Set in refrigerator for 30 minutes and then serve.
