Gajar ka Halwa or carrot pudding, how to make gajar ka halwa
Gajar ka halwa is a winter delicacy that needs no introduction. An Indian dessert loved by one and loved by all. A traditional way of making delicious gajar ka halwa without any shortcuts. At home, we call gajar ka halwa as gajrela.
Ingredients:
- Carrot – 1 Kg
- Milk full cream – 1 liter
- Sugar- 1 Cup
- Cardamom powder- 1 tsp
- Ghee- 2 Tbsp
- Almond – 4-5 pieces
- Cashew Nut- 4-5 pieces
Method:
- Peel, wash, and grate all the carrots.
- In a deep thick bottom, the pan combines milk and grated carrots.
- Bring the whole mixture to boil then low the flame and keep stirring in between.
- Carrots will cook in milk and soon milk evaporates.
- When all milk will reduce add sugar and stir this mixture very well.
- Continue to simmer and cook on low flame.
- When sugar liquid is evaporated then add ghee and roast well in ghee.
- Switch off the flame.
- Serve hot and garnish with dry fruits.
