Eggless doughnut recipe
Perfect yeast doughnuts are easy to make at home if you have the right recipe. Here is an eggless recipe for everyone’s favorite doughnuts. Today I am going to top them with chocolate and sprinklers.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour + more for dusting
- 2 teaspoon yeast
- 1 tablespoon milk powder
- 3 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 50 grams white chocolate
- 50 grams of milk chocolate
- 50 grams dark chocolate
Method:
- Warm the water and add the yeast and a tablespoon of sugar to it.
- Mix well and leave it untouched for ten minutes.
- Combine the flour, powdered sugar, milk powder, and the yeast mixture together and knead into a soft sticky dough.
- Bring the butter to room temperature and mix it to the dough and knead again till the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a bowl and cover with cling film. Set aside until it doubles, about one hour.
- Puncher the dough lightly to remove air and knead softly. Grease hands to avoid stickiness.
- Now roll out the dough to 1/4″ thickness on a well-floured surface.
- Use a doughnut cutter and cut out the desired shape and leave them on greased butter paper for another twenty minutes until it doubles again. Alternatively, you could use a large and small ring cutter to cut out the doughnut shape as well.
- Work on the remaining dough and repeat to finish the dough using the same process.
- Heat enough oil in a flat bottomed pan and once the oil is hot, drop the doughnuts carefully into the oil. Few per batch depending on the size of the pan.
- The oil should not be fuming hot, just right. So regulate to medium or low heat while frying.
- Cook both sides until golden in color. Drain over paper towel. Repeat to finish.
- Melt the different chocolate in a different bowl.
- Dip one side of the doughnut in the chocolate and allow setting.
