Ghevar recipe | How to make ghewar at home
Ghevar is a traditional Indian sweet, which is most popular in the state of Rajasthan and also in Northern India, especially Delhi and surrounding regions. This sweet is interesting in a way that you do not get it all through the year, you only get during the month of August to celebrate festivals like Teej and Rakhi. Traditional Indian sweet, Ghevar is made with flour and soaked in sugar syrup. The crispy deep-fried disc is soaked in sugar syrup and garnished with nuts and edible silver leaves to make a special treat!
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoon ghee
- 2 tablespoon milk
- 1 and 3/4 cup water
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 7 to 8 strands of saffron
- Chopped almonds and pistachio
- Ghee or oil for deep frying
For Sugar Syrup:
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup water
